Administration Assistant

Exciting administrative support positions exist within the patient services and administration teams at St Vincent’s Private Hospital.

St Vincent’s Private Hospital, Lismore is a not-for-profit acute Surgical Medical Hospital operating under the auspices of the Trustees of The Roman Catholic Diocese of Lismore since 1921. Services include general medical, surgical, HDU, palliative care, community palliative care, rehabilitation and aged care facilities. The hospital enjoys a reputation for high quality care. St Vincents is seeking to fill the following permanent part-time/casual positions:

Administration Assistant

Reporting directly to the Nurse Unit Manager – Patient Services, the Administration Assistant positions will be responsible for:

  • The day to day administration for patients admitted to St Vincent’s Lismore.
  • Operation of a busy switchboard
  • Collaboration with all personnel involved in the planning and preparation and care of patients admitted to St Vincent’s Lismore.
  • Ensuring all service delivery is outcome based and consumer centred.
  • Planning for the patient admission with an emphasis on demand management and seamless integration with other service components.

To be successful, applicants will need to possess the following:

  • Demonstrated experience in the day to day administration of patient admissions would be desirable
  • Demonstrated experience and aptitude in the use of basic computer applications including Microsoft Office and other applications
  • Previous experience working within a front line customer service environment and delivering a professional, empathetic and personalised approach to customers
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to relate effectively with a diverse range of patients, the general public and our caregivers
  • Effective time management skills and demonstrated ability to prioritise workload
  • Ability to work in a team environment with a flexible approach to the requirements of a seven (7) day shift roster which will include evenings and weekends

 Assistant in Nursing – Permanent Part Time – St Joseph’s Nursing Home

Exciting opportunities exist for qualified aged care employees to join the team at St Joseph’s Nursing Home.

St Joseph’s Nursing Home, Lismore is a 130 bed Accredited Aged Care Facility owned and operated by the Trustees of the Roman Catholic Church, Diocese of Lismore since 1936. St Joseph’s and Mary’s Grange are located on the grounds of St Vincent’s Private Hospital . The facilities specialise in high care services for the frail aged, palliative care and dementia residents. St Joseph’s Nursing Home aim to provide quality aged care where the relationships between the residents, relatives and staff are based on mutual respect, honesty, openness and shared commitments The facility enjoys a reputation for high quality care. St Joseph’s is seeking to fill the following permanent part-time positions:

Assistant in Nursing

Reporting directly to the Manager Aged Care – St Joseph’s Nursing Home, the Assistant in Nursing assists in the provision of high quality care and support to our resident’s and their families.
To be successful, applicants will need to possess the following:

  • Accredited qualification to a minimum of Certificate III in Aged Care or its equivalent (AIN)\
  • Well developed interpersonal skills within a team environment
  • Excellent organisation and time management skills
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Flexible and available to work on a 24/7 rotating roster

Director of Mission

Services include  medical, surgical, HDU, palliative care, oncology, renal dialysis  and rehabilitation, with childcare and aged care facilities also on campus. The hospital enjoys a reputation for high quality care. St Vincent’s is currently seeking a Director of Mission to work collaboratively with the team to provide a holistic, person centred care model through leadership and expert advice, whilst supporting the organisations Catholic mission and core values.

Director of Mission
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer and the Cathedral Administrator the Director of Mission will be responsible for:

  • Monitoring of the standards of practice in relation to spiritual care across the organisation
  • Coordinate the support of the on-going faith journey of residents and patients within our facilities
  • Provide ministry rituals and prayer as required
  • Mentor Executive Leaders in the developing of skills in leadership of a Catholic Healthcare industry
  • Contribute to quality systems within the organisations
  • Evaluate the provision of spiritual care services to identify opportunities for improvement

To be successful, applicants will need to possess the following:

  • Strong faith in Jesus and a deep understanding and practice of the Catholic Faith
  • Demonstrated ability to provide leadership and mentoring to staff
  • Extensive experience of providing person-centred pastoral and spiritual care
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Demonstrated sensitivity and emotional intelligence
