Day Rehabilitation Open Day on the 14th June 2008
St Vincents Private Day Rehabilitation program will be commencing in June 2008 in the newly refurbished and equipped rehabilitation gym. Ask us about the free information session which will be held in the Day Rehabilitation area on the 14th June.
Come along if you would like to improve your mobility and strength, help regain or improve your independence in everyday living tasks, enhance your recovery from previous orthopaedic or spinal surgery or improve your balance so minimizing your risk of having a fall.
Lap Banding is now available at St Vincents private
No longer will you need to travel to the Gold Coast for Obesity Surgery. Dr Layani and his team are now consulting here at St Vincents Private on a monthly basis. Phone the hospital for more details.
New Day Oncology Unit now open 5 days a week
The 8 bed unit opened its doors for the first patients undergoing treatment on the 7th January. The unit has the latest facilities in patient comfort, state of the art technology and highly qualified registered nursing staff. Patients are admitted under their Specialist Oncologist, Dr Adam Boyce who has rooms within the hospital. The chemotherapy is prepared by pharmacy at St Vincents and patients have direct access to radiology and other surgical services also located on site.

Rehabilitation Unit
The Private Rehabilitation Service was officially opened by the Bishop of Lismore, the Most Rev. Geoffrey Jarrett, in April 2007. This is an inpatient service and is available to privately insured, Department of Veteran Affairs card holders and self-funded patients. Patients are accommodated in a newly renovated ward and have use of the gymnasium and the newly refurbished hydrotherapy pool.

The new Day Rehabilitation Unit is scheduled to open in June 2008 for outpatients.
Sleep Disorder Clinic
Our new Sleep Studies service has been established for diagnosis and treatment of all sleep disorders. It is available to patients who have symptoms such as snoring, tiredness, sleep apnoea, restless legs and insomnia. All patients are accommodated in a private bedroom with ensuite and are supervised by a qualified sleep technologist and Drs John Corbett and Sean Tolhurst, Credentialled Sleep Physicians. Access to this service is by referral from your General Practitioner.

New services coming to St Vincents during 2008 include: Day Rehabiliation, Home Nursing Service, Allied Health Outpatients Clinic and Renal Dialysis.
