The Nursing Service
The nursing division at St Vincents Private Hospital is committed to providing excellent patient care in keeping with our mission and the values of respect, compassion and teamwork
We have a multi-skilled workforce providing a wide range of nursing expertise in areas such as Preadmission, Perioperative, Acute Surgery (all disciplines except cardiac), Rehabilitation, Hospital and Community Palliative Care, Aged Care, Medical, Infection Control and Diabetes.
Nursing is supported by a Staff Development Leader (SDL). The SDL develops and provides educational programs matched to clinical needs. Furthermore, nurses are supported to access external educational programs. Evidence based practice is supported by membership of the Joanna Briggs Institute.
St Vincents also supports the personal needs of our nursing staff by offering flexibility with work hours and choice of shifts. We support a valuable pool of casual staff across all levels of nursing to assist with differing staffing needs so often experienced in the health system. St Vincents Private Hospital, Lismore is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
St Vincents Private Hospital has a large number of non-nursing staff. The Hospital provides a safe, happy and pleasant work environment for all of our employees. It is the responsibility of St Vincents to maintain a fully qualified staff establishment, ongoing training is available and all staff are encouraged to attend.
In some cases these training sessions are compulsory including, manual handling, infection control, CPR, fire training and many other training sessions specific to each area.
