Electrical Appliances
To comply with our fire and safety policy any personal electrical appliances (e.g. hair dryers and razors) need to be checked by our Hospital electrician prior to use. Please notify nursing staff of any such items at time of admission.
Hairdresser
The Ward nurse can arrange for a hairdresser to visit the hospital if required. The hairdresser will charge a standard fee.
Infection Control
An Infection Control Co-Coordinator is available to provide information and assistance regarding infection prevention and management prior to admission, during hospitalisation and upon discharge.
Justice of the Peace
The services of a Justice of the Peace (JP) can be arranged by contacting the Nurse Unit Manager on the ward.
Mail is delivered to all wards daily, Monday to Friday. We can arrange for outgoing mail to be posted. Stamps are available from the front reception desk.
Meals
Our catering staff takes great pride in the meal services provided. All food is cooked fresh daily with a choice available at each meal. A qualified Dietitian is available to arrange special diets where this is in the interest of specialist medical care. Diabetic and special diets are catered for; please nominate any special requirements on the menu. A vegetarian menu is available on request.
Meal times commence at: Breakfast 7.30am, Lunch 12.00 midday, Dinner 5.30pm, Light Supper between 8 & 9pm, morning and afternoon teas are also served.
Medical Record
A record of all patients operation / illness and treatment is kept at the hospital. This is confidential and access is limited to those professionals involved in patient care. The contents will only be released with consent from the patient or where required by law.
Newspapers
The local daily paper is complementary and is delivered to the ward each day. Other papers are available for purchase at the Friends Coffee Lounge.
Smoking / Alcohol
This hospital has a “No Smoking” policy. Patients and visitors are requested not to smoke in the buildings. Alcohol may be served with the evening meal at the Doctor’s discretion.
