St Vincent’s Lismore’s Day Surgery Unit is a modern facility providing a safe and convenient environment for surgical and investigative procedures. A day stay instead of overnight admission can effectively reduce the anxiety and financial burden often associated with coming to hospital.
With renovations completed in 2012, the Day Surgery Unit is supported by five fully equipped operating theatres and has a well appointed 2nd stage recovery area with comfortable recliner chairs where patients are cared for by staff specifically trained in day surgery care and recovery.
Specialities providing day procedures are, Dental, Ear Nose & Throat, Gastroenterology, General Surgery, Gynaecology, Ophthalmology, Maxillo Facial, Orthopaedics, Urology and Vascular surgery.
Admission to the Day Surgery Unit is available to patients covered by a health fund, the Department of Veteran Affairs and uninsured, self-funding patients are welcome.
