The highest standard of care
In August last year, we were thrilled to announce significant developments at St Vincent’s as we embarked on a new journey to enhance our services and expand our reach in the community.
Since then our team has been diligently working on a comprehensive plan to increase awareness and accessibility of our world-class healthcare services in northern and regional NSW. Alongside this, we have undertaken various operational upgrades to ensure that our patients continue to receive the highest standard of care.
Our hospital is not going anywhere!
Following an initial direction to potentially sell or relocate the facility, rumours circulated of closing down, turning into a nursing home, among other wonderful whispers. Now the community is well and truly on notice – St Vincent’s Hospital is OPEN FOR BUSINESS!
Driven by CEO Alan Cooper, much has been achieved in a short space of time to rejuvenate this iconic facility. Supported by our Board of Directors, the Diocese of Lismore has invested significantly in the future of St Vincent’s Hospital, as any recent visitor will see.
A full scale renovation is in progress, delivering the premium healthcare experience that private patients in our area expect and deserve:
- Hospital exterior
- Public spaces
- Lifts
- Bathrooms
- Furniture
- Wards and Patient Rooms
- Aged Care rooms and activity areas
It’s not just the physical refurbishment
The team has been working hard to generate a super positive culture among our staff. How?
Creating competence and confidence throughout all departments:
- Nurse education and upskilling
- Student nurse outreach and training
- Upgrading equipment
- Regular staff sessions on our STriVe core values
- Celebrating good behaviours and calling out poor ones
- Implementing staff recognition programs
- Creating employment opportunities in all of our faculties; nursing, admin,
- catering, housekeeping, maintenance, child care, aged care
Our goal is to be the workplace of choice for healthcare workers in the Northern Rivers.
